Why can technology be both harmful and useful

Title, Why can technology be both harmful and useful

Intro, today i will be explaining about why technology can be both harmful and useful at the same time.

First, Children who overuse technology may be likely to experience mental health issues, including lack of attention, low  creativity, delays in language development, delays in social and emotional development, and addiction to these technologies.

Next, You may think technology is just a distraction, but it can help encourage active participation in your classroom. Using devices like a computer, tablet, or other type of technology in your classroom can help turn traditionally dull subjects into interactive and fun activities.

Lastly, technology use can cause social and behavioral problems in children because it minimizes the amount of time kids spend interacting with others. Make sure to monitor your child’s social media use and be aware of the types of websites they’re visiting and the games they’re playing online.

In conclusion, I think The effects of technology on society have been both positive and negative. While technology has made it easier to connect with others, access information, and improve medical care, it has also led to job loss, cyberbullying, and technology addiction.

What is sound and how do we hear it?

What is sound and how do we hear it?
Today I will be explaining what sound is and how we hear it. First of all I will be talking about how sound can be heard. Then I will explain how sound travels through your ears. Finally I will explain what hair cells are and how they help you to hear.
First of all, sound can come from all sorts of places like instruments, devices, and people’s voices, music, rain, crying and also vibrations. It could be from anything that makes a noise. Not many people can hear sound or noises because often they can be deaf. So sometimes doing sign language is a good thing too, so they know what you’re saying. They could also get hearing aids to hear so you don’t always have to do sign language.
Next, when you hear sound it travels through your ear canal all the way to your eardrum. There are 3 tiny bones in your ear that vibrate when the sound travels through your ear. 1: you have your incus, 2: you have your malleus and 3: you have your stapes. When the sound hits those three bones they amplify the sound making it louder. Then they start moving up and down because of the sound they are hearing or how loud it is that makes it move around. It also connects to the Cochlea, inside your ear.
Finally, hair cells are located within the Cochlea, in the inner ear in the hair cells. It Includes 3 rows of outer hair cells and 1 row of inner hair cells. The vibrations are caused by sound waves that bend the stereocilia on these hair cells in an electromechanical force. Did you know that hair cells convert mechanical energy into electrical energy? This is then transmitted to the central nervous system, and then travels to the brain.
In conclusion, hearing is an important aspect of life and our ears are quite unique.

Year 8 camp highlights.

Kia ora, and greetings to you all, last week on Wednesday we went to a year 8 camp and It was out of Auckland. It was called Kauaeranga christian camp for leadership and how to step up and be a good leader.

On the first day of camp, we arrived and then we met Shane. Shane introduced himself, and all the other helpers, then we went over some rules. After that we went into our first rotation. My group and I (Tames B) we did Archery (Bow and Arrows) and then we did Gym games, it was multi sports, after an hour of our rotations, we did cross games in the Gym, we had to get in our house colours (Blue, Red, Yellow and Green).

On our second day, we did 4 rotations. My group and I (Tames B) we did Bike’s and Jiggers, then we did Go karts and Axe throwing, then we did flying fox and low ropes. Our last rotation was Air rifles. My favourite rotation was Air rifles because It was a challenge to try and hit the cans.

On the last day we started packing up and we did our last rotation which was the paintballs. I really enjoyed the paintballs because it was fun and entertaining. My favourite part about the paintballs was when we shot each other with the paintballs using slingshots. After that we all got our bags and put them on the bus, we then had free time and after it was over we hopped on the bus and drove back to school.

My Highlights on year 8 camp was when I saw everyone being a team and seeing them having fun.
